Cimic awarded contract for Australian LNG project

CPB Contractors, part of Cimic Group company, has been awarded a package of gas gathering and infrastructure works worth A$90 million (US$63.5 million) for Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) in the Surat Basin, Queensland.

The contract, which will deliver more than 300 coal seam gas wells over two years, consolidates CPB Contractors’ position as a key delivery partner in the provision of gas infrastructure in Queensland.

CIMIC Group chief executive officer Michael Wright said: “CPB Contractors’ expertise in supporting the delivery of liquefied natural gas, combined with the specialist skills of Thiess, Sedgman and UGL, means the CIMIC Group continues to play a central role in the vital work of the energy and resources sectors.”

Works under the new contract include infrastructure for access tracks and well site lease pad preparation, gas and water pipeline gathering networks, electrical supply networks and rehabilitation of right of ways after installations are complete.
