On 5th April 2019, in the framework of his current visit to Amman- Jordanian Capital, Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Eng. Hala Zawati, Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources signed a long-term contract between Jordanian Egyptian Fajr Company and Technical Company for Gas Pipeline Services (TGS), for natural gas pipelines operation and maintenance services and its facilities in Jordan.
The contract was signed by Eng. Fouad Rashad, President of the Board of Directors of Fajr Jordan and Eng. Hisham Radwan, President of Technical Company for Gas Pipeline Services (TGS).
Eng. Tarek El Molla clarified that the activity of the TGS will qualify the company in the future to contract with the Jordanian Authorities and companies in managing and operating the natural gas pipelines’ grid, which will be implemented in Jordan or neighboring countries.
For her part, the Jordanian Minister of Energy asserted that the natural gas projects enhanced unprecedented economic relations between Egypt and Jordan that have a significant role in bolstering the joint bonds. Furthermore, both countries are effectively establishing more partnerships in the natural gas domain, as an investment of the success achieved in this domain, pointing out that there is a full understanding and coordination, for achieving the project, currently being implemented.
For his part, Eng. Fouad Rashad reviewed the work progress status of the natural gas projects in Jordan, along with the project’s marketing, technical and economic studies, set in cooperation with Egypt Gas, for delivering gas to the industrial countries, in addition to Amman and Aqaba.
