Under an agreement between oil & gas shipping and infrastructure provider Exmar and Argentinian energy company YPF, the Tango FLNG will spend the next 10 years moored in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, as the first FLNG unit in operation in the Americas. The Tango FLNG will enable Argentina to join the growing list of LNG exporters around the world, while allowing the country to monetize and export its massive reserves of stranded shale gas. The Tango FLNG will produce approximately 0.5 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG.
Exmar, using Black & Veatch???s PRICO?? technology, successfully completed its Guaranteed Performance Test on the 5th of June. This success reinforces Black & Veatch???s capabilities to meet customer demand for reliable, cost-effective and quick-delivery alternatives to traditional onshore facilities. By using a single-mixed refrigerant loop for natural gas liquefaction, PRICO?? provides several key benefits including scalability, minimal equipment and a compact process footprint. ??
???Bringing the Tango to full commercial operation builds upon our legacy of delivering reliable, cost-effective LNG solutions, while opening up new opportunities to fast-track the monetization of natural gas,??? said Exmar CEO Nicolas Saverys.
The Tango FLNG facility will become the second floating liquified natural gas unit in commercial operation to feature PRICO?? technology. Earlier this year, Black & Veatch received full notice to proceed to design, construct and deliver a third FLNG unit, underscoring the company???s ability to help meet the world???s demand for LNG.
???Completing the performance testing aboard the Tango reinforces Black & Veatch???s position as a leader in providing reliable solutions for floating liquified natural gas,??? said Bob Germinder, Black & Veatch Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Floating Oil & Gas Solutions. ???This demonstrates our ability to deliver liquefaction for clients wherever they need it.???
??As a leader in liquefaction, Black & Veatch delivers integrated FLNG Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) solutions that meet customer demand for continuous and efficient production.
