Rosseti FGC UES begins new phase of constructing power supply facilities for compressor station #1 of Power of Siberia gas line

Construction of a 50 MVA substation and a 12.3-km transmission line began in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to feed power to compressor station no. 1 Saldykelskaya of the Power of Siberia pipeline system. The facilities will be commissioned before the end of this year. In total, in 2020 Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) will technologically connect three compressor stations of the gas line to the Unified National Power Grid (UNPG). The total cost of the projects is 2.1 bn rubles.

According to the contracts, the work on creating the gas pipeline's external power supply circuit is performed by Rosseti FGC UES in Yakutia and the Amur region. Beside CS-1 Saldykelskaya, also compressor stations no. 4 Nimnyrskaya and no. 7 Sivakinskaya will be connected to UNPG (within the first phase of the project) in 2020. To that end, a new 110 kV switchgear will be built at the substation near OPS-18 of the Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean oil pipeline, and the 110 kV switchgear at 220 kV Sivaki substation will be extended. Also in 2020, it is planned to complete the second phase of connection of the Amur Gas Processing Plant's power station to UNPG.

The work is conducted in areas with harsh climatic conditions: temperature drops between +38 and -57 degrees, wind loads up to 27 m/s. Transmission line supports up to 35.8 m tall are mounted on foundations down to 4.8 m deep. Modern polymer compounds are applied on the steel structures for protection against corrosion. Highly reliable power equipment and switching facilities are used in the construction and revamping. Newest automated control and monitoring systems are applied, capable of registering the slightest deviations from presets in real time.

Currently, Rosseti FGC UES provides electricity to four compressor stations of the Power of Siberia as well as to the transfer point of Chayandinskoye, one of the largest oil and gas condensate fields in the east of the country. This allows pumping gas from the Yakutia production center for export to China.

The complete creation of the external power supply circuit for the Power of Siberia gas pipeline in Yakutia and the Amur region will be finished in 2022. Rosseti FGC UES will connect to UNPG eight compressor stations, Chayandinskoye oil, gas and condensate field and the Amur Gas Processing Plant's power station. For this, the company will commission a total of 206 MVA of new transformer capacity and over 100 km of new transmission lines.
