Tashkent to host 9th International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics

Korean University of International Studies, Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent and ERIELL Prof Education in Tashkent with the support of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development will hold the 9th International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics – FLTAL 2019, on May 2-3.

The conference is aimed at creation of information platform for improving foreign language teaching process, as well as discussions on theoretical and applied aspects of modern linguistics.

The conference on “Creative Multilingual Identities: The Influence of Multilingual Identity on Foreign Language Learning" is aimed at attracting scientists’ attention to current problems of modern linguistics.

Within the framework of FLTAL 2019, problems related to current issues of linguistics, cross-cultural communication and foreign language teaching will be discussed. It is also planned to thoroughly study the dynamic interaction of traditional and new, local and global trends, progressive and conservative views, stabilization and destabilization models, national and global identity. In this regard, special attention will be paid to such an urgent problem as universal and cultural-specific features in foreign language teaching and applied linguistics.

The event will be addressed by Cynthia White, Professor of Applied Linguistics in the School of Linguistics and International Languages, Gary Barkhuizen, Professor in the School of Cultures, Languages, and Linguistics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand and Vijay Bhatia, former Professor from the Department of English at the City University of Hong Kong.
